The company PHC invests heavily in the construction and rehabilitation of public schools in its areas of operation in order to offer children in rural areas suitable and comfortable learning conditions.

The PHC Foundation intervenes to give learners the opportunity to access the wealth of educational information available on the internet. However, despite the high number of graduates in the DRC job market, employers often complain about not being able to find qualified workers.

At the other end of the educational spectrum, the PHC Foundation also helps higher education graduates acquire the skills that will make them competitive in the job market. Two projects are currently being implemented by the PHC Foundation.

  • Access to digital content for rural schools

Today, the internet is teeming with information that can significantly contribute to the education of Congolese children, and this information is freely accessible if learners have access. The PHC Foundation aims to promote inclusive and modern education in rural areas by facilitating access to digital content for students and their teachers. In addition to traditional teaching infrastructure, the PHC Foundation will provide schools with computer labs where students can access and, under the supervision of their teachers, browse the internet to find supplementary information and enrich their learning.

  • Building professional excellence in the DRC

As part of this initiative, the PHC Foundation has entered into agreements with selected employers to offer internship opportunities to graduating students from higher education institutions in rural areas. The project aims to select the best graduating students eligible for internships through a competitive process and will support these winners with additional training and a mentorship program to help them optimize their performance during their internships. The project also plans to develop capacity-building modules for teachers at partner institutions to enhance their skills and assist school administrators in securing external funding. The objective of these interventions is to create a solid career path for students from rural institutions by meeting labor market needs and facilitating their integration into the workforce.
