Education & Careers

The PHC Foundation works to improve access to quality education in rural communities by promoting access to educational information through digital resources and learning opportunities to strengthen learners’ knowledge. Committed to addressing the challenges of employability in the DRC, the PHC Foundation also supports young higher education graduates in developing the practical and professional skills sought after in the job market. To date, two major projects are underway to support this vision.

  • Access to Digital Content for Rural Schools

    Today, the internet is full of information that can significantly contribute to the education of Congolese children, and this information is available for free if students have access to it. We promote inclusive and modern education in rural areas by facilitating access to digital content for students and their teachers. In addition to traditional educational infrastructure, the PHC Foundation will provide schools with computer labs where students can, under the supervision of their teachers, access the internet to find additional information and enrich their learning.

  • Building Professional Excellence in the DRC

    In collaboration with several employers and to offer internship opportunities to graduating students from higher education and university institutions in rural areas, the project aims to select, through a competitive process, the best eligible graduating students for internships and will support these successful candidates with additional training and a mentoring program to help them optimize their performance during their internships. There are also plans to develop capacity-building modules for teachers at partner institutions to improve their skills and help the administrators of these institutions secure external funding. The goal of these initiatives is to create a solid career path for students at rural institutions by meeting the needs of the labor market and facilitating their integration into the workforce.
